Sample of Past Client Profiles in Leading Corporations, NGOs, and Policy Communities:

Celanese AG

Nature of the Project

From 2002 to 2004, the AHC Group management consultants assisted Celanese AG in the creation, facilitation and support of their guiding coalition on sustainable development. We also provided benchmarking of management strategy to Celanese AG involving a member of the Board of Management.

The AHC Group's goal with Celanese was to convert sustainable development management strategy challenges from a corporate responsibility objective to a measurable set of business results in their management strategy. The AHC Group worked with a 14-person leadership team on emerging customer requirements, competitor differentiation, and societal/regulatory trends.

Celanese and the AHC Group worked to catalyze a cultural change of corporate responsibility for the organization where economic, social and environmental objectives cease to be separate and instead become mutually reinforcing sources of competitive advantage and value enhancement in sustainable development.

For questions, please consult Dr. Piasecki directly at Bruce@ahcgroup.com.

Toyota

Nature of the Project

The AHC Group assisted Toyota North America in a number of environmental capacities, from benchmarking to on site visits with their head of sales, manufacturing, and research and development.

For a sense of that work, please see the linked article on the AHC Group's sense of "social response product development." For questions, please consult Dr. Piasecki directly at Bruce@ahcgroup.com.

Consolidated Edison

Nature of the Project

From May 1995, through June 2001, the AHC Group served the New York City-based utility, Consolidated Edison, in multiple benchmarking capacities. One assignment was to help Con-Ed executives and their staff better understand their long-term strategic responses to their environmental liabilities. Another assignment was to benchmark their management systems and risk mitigation system against four AHC Group Corporate Affiliates, ranging from its petroleum utility and chemical client base.

The AHC Group has allowed this utility to liberate its technological capacity and address stakeholders needs. With the creation of an in-house "User's Guide" and the development of Con-Ed's first environmental report, the AHC Group helped this utility position itself for deregulation and competition.

PP&L Resources

Nature of the Project

Since April 1997, the AHC Group has served as consultants to PP&L Resources. With our experience of working for 17 of the 50 largest utilities in the world, and our understanding of the role of environmental strategies in a newly deregulated utility sector, we have assisted PP&L in the creation and integration of its environmental systems throughout the entire 6,000-person organization.

Our tasks included participation in the ISO 14001 "gap" analysis, business unit facilitation of environmental management strategies and support for the work of their executive Environmental Policy Committee. This will help PP&L compete in a deregulated environment while addressing their stakeholder's environmental interests.

National Environmental Policy Institute

Nature of the Project

The AHC Group was hired by the National Environmental Policy Institute for a three year period to help remake environmental policy, liberate technology innovation, and meet President Clinton's challenge of "moving beyond confrontation to build a consensus on a balanced policy to preserve jobs and protect our environment." Dr. Bruce Piasecki served as the Chair for the NEPI's Reinventing EPA Working Group.

The AHC Group helped NEPI define a six-point strategy addressing the need for common ground and a consensus approach toward environmental policy goals, the importance of redefining the economic and political terms of the environmental debate, and the need for recognition of corporate management philosophy in environmental policy.

World Resources Institute

Nature of the Project

The World Resources Institute hired the AHC Group to give their organization advice on the state of environmental management research and practice and guidance on follow-up research to WRI'S environmental accounting report, Green Ledgers: Case Studies in Corporate Environmental Accounting.

As one of the premier environmental advocacy research organizations, WRI looked to AHC Group for advice on research, publication and dissemination of environmental management tools to the business community. Drawing from our experience in publishing, research and consulting in both the private and public sectors, the AHC Group helped WRI create a long-term research and advocacy agenda.

Concurrent Technologies Corporation

Client Endorsement

"In the early 1990s, the Department of Defense's (DOD) Environmental Budget approached the budget of the entire U.S. EPA. Bruce Piasecki's In Search of Environmental Excellence: Moving Beyond Blame built a powerful insight around the irony of the DOD's leadership in addressing environmental issues. Piasecki mapped the unique alignment within the DOD between their mission, their massive budget, and environmental stewardship. His insights still shape the work of the DOD and its business partners in pursuing that mission."

Vice President & Chief Quality Officer, CTC
