W. Steven Wolff

As President, Power Production, Mr. Wolff is responsible for the operation of Dayton Power and Light's electric generating stations and operational peaking units. Dayton Power and Light operates over 4600 megawatts of coal- and gas-fired generation facilities located in Ohio and Indiana; provides electric services to 500,000 retail customers in West Central Ohio; and markets wholesale energy throughout the eastern United States.
Mr. Wolff joined DP&L in 2001 as Plant Manager, O.H. Hutchings Station. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1975. He earned a Master of Arts degree (with distinction) in National Security and Strategic Studies in 1994 from the Naval War College; a Master of Science in Engineering degree from the Catholic University of America in 1997; and a Master of Science in Environmental Management and Policy degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2001.
Mr. Wolff retired from the U. S. Navy in 2001 as a Captain with 26 years' service as a nuclear propulsion-trained submarine officer. His prior Navy assignments included Commanding Officer, USS PITTSBURGH (SSN 720) and Professor and Chair of Naval Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Lally School of Management. In January 2002, he was promoted to Director, Energy Production, then moving into the role of Vice President, Power Production. He is responsible for all DPL-owned energy production facilities as well as Environmental, IT, and Purchasing areas. In January 2003, he was elected to his current position as President, Power Production.
Mr. Wolff and his wife Suzie live in Centerville, Ohio.
